Quite by chance, dermatologists discovered as a positive side effect of other treatments that laser treatment can reduce acne. For example, patients who received laser treatment for wrinkles and skin damage also found that this clearly reduced the pimple problems. The English dermatologist, Dr. Tony Chu of Hammersmith Hospital in London, researched this phenomenon scientifically. His results unequivocally conclude that laser treatment with specially developed lasers have a clearly positive effect on pimples and acne.
What types of pimples and acne can be treated with the N-Lite laser?
We can treat most types of inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne, but not the most serious conditions. In such cases, we will refer you to a dermatologist.
How is the treatment of acne with the N-Lite laser carried out?
A consultation is always carried out before arranging treatment of pimples and acne with the N-Lite laser. During the consultation, you will receive comprehensive information regarding preparations prior to the treatment, the treatment itself and what happens afterwards.
The skin will first be cleaned well, and you will put on protective glasses. The treatment will often feel warm, but would not be considered painful. If you have a significantly inflamed skin condition, you will feel it more. The treatment itself takes just under 15 minutes. After treatment, a moisturizer and a protective cream with SPF 30 are applied to the skin.
How does N-Lite laser treatment of pimples and acne work?
Oxygen is released into the skin during treatment, which will also help kill the anaerobic acne bacteria.
Jan Marini medical skincare line
A fresh, youthful appearance is based on healthy skin. We always recommend the use of the Jan Marini Skin Research medical skin care line in conjunction with our N-Lite laser treatments. We match the products specifically adapted to your skin and the treatment you have taken, thus increasing the effect of the N-Lite laser treatment and aiding in the prevention of new occurrences of acne. The laser cannot do anything about the production of sebum, and the products play a major role in overcoming this. In addition, skin affected by acne needs a great deal of moisture and protection. We always recommend moderation with regards to exposure to the sun.
Can everyone be treated for acne and pimples with the N-Lite laser?
In general, anyone can be treated. There are, however, some medications and creams you should not use during the period before and after treatment. If you are using Roaccutane, you cannot receive N-Lite laser treatment until one year has passed after you have ceased using the medication. Blood-thinning medications or medications that cause sensitivity to light should also be avoided. We request everyone to tell the treatment nurse about any medications being used.
Why choose N-Lite laser treatment for acne and pimples?
• Mild laser treatment that does not leave wounds/marks
• Warm, but not painful
• No side effects
