How is the treatment carried out?  

A consultation is always carried out before performing treatment with Restylane. During the consultation, you will receive comprehensive information regarding the preparations prior to the treatment, the treatment itself and what happens afterwards. 

We recommend fasting for 4 hours before treatment (liquid food is OK). Inside the treatment room, the area to be treated will be measured and marked, and then these and other data will be plotted on the machine. A nurse will perform the actual treatment. 

The specific ultrasound waves emitted by the transducer/applicator will destroy selective fat cells, but will not affect the surrounding skin, blood vessels or nerve fibres. 

The actual treatment takes from 1-2 hours. There will be no need for pain relief, and you may return directly to your daily activities. In order to ensure that the fat that is released after the fat cells are destroyed is burned off, we recommend that you exercise/have an active lifestyle with a regulated diet. During your consultation, you will be given a nutrition program, which can be used as a guide and can help you find which types of foods are best to eat and why. It also contains tips on various types of exercise, as well as meal suggestions. 

A treatment programme consists of 3 treatments that are two weeks apart and a subsequent check-up 2 weeks after the final treatment. On average, one can achieve about a 4cm reduction in circumference in the area treated in such a programme.

Can everyone be treated with UltraShape? 

In general, anyone may be treated with UltraShape with the exception of the following:
