How is Restylane treatment carried out?
There is always a consultation before you set up your Restylane lip treatment. During the consultation, you will receive comprehensive information regarding preparations prior to the treatment, the treatment itself and what happens afterwards. Most people prefer to have an anaesthetic before Restylane treatment. We use either an anaesthetic cream or a local anaesthetic injection (dental anaesthetic) for this, which means you will not feel anything during the treatment. Restylane is injected into the lips through a thin needle, and the treatment takes from 30-60 minutes. It's normal to feel some discomfort in the form of swelling, redness/bruising, itching, pain or tenderness in the treated area. This usually passes within a few days, but may last a maximum of 1-2 weeks. How does Restylane work?
