BOTOX® is the world's most widely used method for removing wrinkles and provides almost immediate results. In the USA in 2008, five million treatments were carried out with BOTOX®.
What can be treated with BOTOX®?
A consultation is always carried out before treatment with BOTOX®. During the consultation, we will go through the information sheet, the treatment itself and what happens afterwards.
How does BOTOX ® work?
BOTOX ® contains Botulinum toxin type A. This substance blocks the nerve impulses to the muscles. In diluted doses, BOTOX is injected with a small disposable syringe into the small facial muscles, which results in a local reduction of muscle activity. In this way, the overlying skin is smoothed out. BOTOX® is injected using a thin needle that is hardly felt. The actual treatment takes about 15 minutes, and you can immediately return to your daily routine. It takes 2-4 days before treatment begins to work, and 1-2 weeks before one achieves the full effect.
Treatment with BOTOX® is transient. On average, the effects last 3-5 months after initial treatment. In order to maintain optimal effect, one should repeat the treatment with BOTOX® 2-3 times per year. It is beneficial to move the muscles that have been treated as much as possible during the period right after the treatment. This increases the absorption of BOTOX® and the effect of treatment. In many cases, the use of BOTOX® and RESTYLANE® are combined, particularly for deeper wrinkles.
